Who knew Seattle was so expensive?

I just finished making my travel arrangements for EDUCAUSE in October. (I think I managed to snag a dirt-cheap flight and I know I got an amazingly inexpensive hotel room.)

Yesterday, while looking for a hotel room, I was using the conference travel tools. There were only two official conference hotels with rooms left, and imagine my surprise when I was presented with this rate for one of them:

Seems a bit steep, no?

Read the fine print. There are some amazing amenities at the Six Avenue Inn ;-) Have fun in Seattle, go catch some thrown fish or visit the Fremont Troll.

Alan — yeah, but at these prices you know the wireless has got to stink.

Yeah, the Washington Athletic Club doesn’t even HAVE amenities.

Sounds pretty cheap compared to our student laptops last year at William and Mary. For the first week you could go to the website and buy a ThinkPad with 2 gigs of ram and a 14.1″ inch screen for the amazingly discounted price of only $999,999. Didn’t get too many takers….
